The underlying philosophy of Bella Terra Lodge is to protect the natural environment by practicing sustainability and in reducing our ecological/carbon footprint. Our facilities, services and programs are designed, maintained and operated to co-exist in harmony with the environment, both at a local and a global level. The Environmental Assessment we completed with our Biologist identified a number of facinating plant communities and resident wildlife, including bald eagles. Clean, fresh water is supplied by our deep bedrock well.. On-site generation of electricity from solar photovoltaic panels and a future wind and micro-hydro system supply power to Bella Terra. Our buildings incorporate many Green Building principles. As well, a comprehensive reduction, reuse and recycling program is practiced.
